LAKEHOUSE SERENITY

The Starting point of this project was a small one-story cabin to building a two-story dream home. Located right by the lake and being neighbors with nature, this was a dream location to work with.

Wood, concrete, stone, linen, and sheepskin are something that repeats throughout. Here functionality, simplicity, and luxury meet to create a harmony that makes anyone who steps in through the doors feel calm and serene.

"Keeping the ceilings high with visible beams in the living room upstairs, I decided to stain in a darker brown stain and keep the grain of the beam that's giving more life to the room, also gives that older authentic feeling and just letting the big windows with the gorgeous view speak for itself like a living painting..

Using a wood floor for the living room downstairs and cement for the kitchen area gave it a natural divide without having to separate rooms as well as the seethrough fireplace that's also a natural room divider that provides a cozy as well as beautiful detail for the room. While choosing the right countertop for the kitchen I went for a warm grey stone that matched the concrete floor and a neutral beige for the cabinets for it all to match harmoniously together."

"All baseboard trims as well as doors are painted in a taupe color that you see throughout the home. There are spacious rooms with big windows facing the lake, It was important to me to make the lake a point of interest for the entire house really see the breathtaking views and also have the master bedroom facing the lake, waking up with a feeling of almost being on a boat."
